Our collective fights discrimination and unequal opportunities – through educational work, stage programs, event support, and projects. WirWollen works with all age groups, but focuses primarily on young people.
Guiding principle
"No child causes problems unless they have experienced them themselves."
What is awareness-work?
Awareness-work is a preventive approachaimed at preventing discriminatory behavior and violence. It makes power relations visible and creates awareness of how discrimination arises and works.
WirWollen puts awareness work into practice. We create spaces where everyone feels safe and respected, and we build a community where diversity is embraced and inequality is reduced.
Why does awareness-work matter?
“Awareness is the first step toward real change.”
Discrimination, violence, and disadvantage still shape the everyday lives of many people. Awareness-raising work addresses this issue: it creates space for empathy and reflection and highlights how we treat each other.
When young people and adults recognize their own potential for action and develop respectful behaviors, this not only changes their environment, but also strengthens entire communities. This creates a culture in which diversity becomes a matter of course and equal opportunities can be experienced.

Depending on the setting, we use different forms of expression: precisely formulated spoken word and poetry elements or musical performances that go straight to the heart. Both create spaces in which listeners can reflect and be stimulated in their thinking.
We flexibly adapt our inputs in terms of length, intensity, and focus to the needs of the respective group.

Events, whether large, small, public, or internal, should be safe and joyful spaces for everyone involved. Through our awareness-raising work, we actively contribute to making people feel welcome and protected at events. Our goal is to create an atmosphere and conditions that respect diversity, honor boundaries, and acknowledge needs.
We support organizers in a wide variety of contexts: from cultural and music events to club parties, corporate events, youth programs, and community events, as well as private or public celebrations. We accompany teams, create clear structures for respectful interaction, and are available as approachable confidants for all guests.
Our presence ensures that uncertainties are reduced, conflicts are identified at an early stage, and situations are handled sensitively. This creates a space where people can let themselves go, celebrate together, participate, and move freely—without fear of exclusion, assault, or discriminatory behavior.
With every event, we want to do our part to make shared experiences truly accessible to everyone.
Projects
Duration
Depending on the project (one-time to long-term)
Target group
All age groups & institutions
Format
Participation projects | Stage programs | Video projects
Our projects arise from the realities of life for local people and are developed together with them. Through genuine participatory processes, we enable participation that is not just promised but actively lived—in cities, communities, youth centers, social institutions, or any other environment where people want to make a difference together.
Under the motto “We want...”, we create spaces where perspectives become visible. We use these impulses to develop tailor-made projects: from creative participation formats and neighborhood initiatives to empowerment programs and longer-term community processes.
Every project is based on the fundamental idea that change occurs when people are involved in shaping it themselves. We accompany these processes sensitively, thereby enabling sustainable structures that have an impact far beyond the individual project.
