WirWollen

Antidiscrimination-work with attitude and heart

WirWollen stands for antidiscrimination-work,especially for teenagers and young adults. We raise awareness of racism, sexism, and all forms of discrimination and develop ways to effectively combat them. Our projects combine education, empowerment, and practical experience so that young people can act confidently and stand up for equality and respect.

"No child causes problems unless they have experienced them themselves."

Our history & values

Antidiskriminierungsarbeit mit Andru König

WirWollen has evolved from a multitude of previous projects. Over the last ten years, we – Andru & Emily Rose König – have created spaces that empower people and raise awareness of discrimination. As young adults who are themselves intersectionally affected by racism, sexism, and classism, we know from our own experience how crucial it is to create safe spaces where young people can flourish and their voices can be heard.

With our language, our demeanor, and our commitment, we build bridges between young people and adults. We show that educational work, supported by personal experiences, can be implemented effectively, vividly, and accessibly in schools, clubs, and institutions. At the same time, we take care to create clear framework conditions that ensure that students, teenagers, and young adults can develop their potential in an informed, empowered, and protected manner.

Our vision

Many young people experience discrimination, racism, and exclusion at school, in clubs, or in everyday life, often silently and unnoticed. In 2024, the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency received 11,405 requests for advice on discrimination , a new maximum value.Since 2019, the number of counseling cases has nearly tripled.(antidiskriminierungsstelle.de)). The number of unreported cases is significantly higher!

However, those who are educated at an early age and are integrated into protected spaces develop a significantly stronger awareness of justice and learn to actively live democratically.

This is where WirWollen comes in: We create a nationwide contact point for antidiscrimination-work,that is practical and focused on sustainable change. Through our projects, we empower young people and adults, promote engagement, and create spaces where people can learn from each other and take action together. In doing so, we build long-term relationships between communities and institutions and give marginalized groups the visibility and voice they deserve. Our initiatives focus on continuity rather than short-term actions—they effectively combat racism, sexism, and discrimination of all kinds and contribute to genuine social change.

Why our antidiscrimination-work is effective

Actively against discrimination

We focus on practical projects in which young people and adults become active, reflect, and learn options for action.

Making diversity visible

Through workshops, creative formats, and educational work, we promote mutual respect and empower marginalized groups exactly where it is really needed.

Promoting democracy

Our projects raise awareness of right-wing extremism, strengthen anti-discriminatory thinking, and motivate people to actively live democratic values.

Practical & sustainable

We work long-term with schools, institutions, and networks in Germany to bring about lasting change.

Projects & network

We carry out practical projects against discrimination throughout Germany. Our projects combine educational work, stage programs, and creative formats to empower people and actively involve them. At the same time, we are building a network of schools, associations, and organizations that enables long-term cooperation between them.
